Passages

Slip off the old mask of age and pain

And realize what your minds play is for the day

When you express your life as simply one or another

Your Heart is forced to forever wander lost and left forlorn

Experience is a dream of depths and creativity

To view it as another without cause or color

Brings a life of empty thought and no hope of home

Bring forth all that you think you know and lay it aside

Feel and not fear what is left of the burden and the wanting

Give the gift of heaviness that passes on for another’s viewing

Take in as much as you will of the wonders of this our day

For in the end we set aside all those colors and shapes for another

Our journeys through this and all of our other lives

Are much like a cycle on this Earth through which we all to often stray

Many are the seasons that mark our passage of time from one to another

Never stopping…never ending do the cycles always turn until we awaken

Always are we born in Springs new hope and creative adventures

As we build our castles and foundations with the flowering of Summer

Sensing a fulfillment and joy at what we have completed in our Autumn

Gathering all that is precious around us for that short Winters nap

With each respite do we gather more wisdom as well as courage

To create even grander images of the road that goes forever on

How well do we fit within that which we have done and where we have been

Higher and higher shall we soar and longer are our flights to be

For as we pass over all that has been done before

May our own wings unfold and forever pull us forward.
