Touch

Remember who you are and from where you came

Feel the sunlight from all the days you have lived and dreamed

Touch the grass, the leaves and the trees, smell the Earth there and then

Of all the days you have journeyed and yearned to return

Are any more any stronger or lesser than where you are

For always, the picture, it moves in concert with your Heart

Create the joy you sense you had and show that you still can

Remove yourself from another’s drama and dreams

Unfold yourself again as a newborn reaching for its first day

Belong to that which you feel and not surmise

Pass on the attempts to mold yourself in another’s way

For in the end you will have to begin it all again

Cherish the movements of  your own life whose call reaches out

To those who come to give comfort and color their poses grandly

Touch and remember all of those whom you were and smile

As you glide down the path for the next

Worry not if others around you sing their own song

For in all truth it takes many voices to create the chorus

Have the strength and resilience to follow your own true voice

All must make the journey home; it matters not when they arrive

Touch all with your word, presence, and most of all your courage

How can so few serve and move so many

Follow your Heart’s path and watch the all follow

Even if you oversleep and are tardy for today or tomorrow

There will always be room for you and yours

Collect that which is yours for your journey today

Carefully wrapped your cloak about your shoulders

For it is now time for your journey back.
